Looking for the perfect place to have your fill of butter prawns, lala shellfish, gong gong and crab feast? Sixty minutes away from the shores of Singapore lies Southeast Asia’s seafood paradise!
Here are five prominent seafood restaurants located in Batam fit for family occasions and company feasts.
1 – Barelang Seafood Restaurant
Not a fan of venturing out of the way for a shot of Batam’s iconic Barelang Bridge? We think diners at Barelang Seafood Restaurant simply admire it from their seats, halfway through a great seafood banquet!
Barelang Seafood Restaurant has been serving local seafood straight from their kelongs since 2009. We recommend making your way to the kelong located right next to the dining area for good photo spots. You may very well give the staff a heads up on which prawn, shellfish, crab or fish you’d like to have for dinner too!
With a dining hall capable of hosting 1500 guests, Barelang Seafood Restaurant is by far the largest seafood restaurant the WOW Team has visited in Batam. Hosting a corporate lunch or dinner? Reserve an air-conditioned VIP room with karaoke facilities for a hearty event!
Barelang Seafood restaurant offers a spectacular view of the archipelago. We spotted four other islands along the horizon which included Pulau Akar, the “island of roots” where coastal fishermen dwell.
Address: Jl. Trans Barelang, Bridge 1 Barelang, Batam, Indonesia
Opening Hours: 9.30am – 8.00pm
2 – Golden Prawn 933
If there’s a top-off-the-head recommendation for fresh seafood restaurants in Batam, Golden Prawn 933 would definitely be it.
Located right across Jalan Bengkong Laut’s Golden View Hotel, diners can expect enormous kelong-style dining halls and a robust menu offering you a value-for-money experience. For a great view, grab the seats right next to the sea!
Opened since 1993, Golden Prawn 933 is a live seafood restaurant with live seafood stock replenished everyday. This means guests get to have the last say over what’s for dinner!
If selecting the fishes before they get turned into dishes sounds like a plan (or a family activity), then Golden Prawn 933 is definitely for you.
The next best thing after being served Batam’s daily fresh catch? It’s definitely signing the bill without a sweat.
Other onsite features include a money changer, bird’s nest store and gemstone boutique.

Located on the Singapore Strait, Batam View’s star restaurant offers an impressive vantage point along its boardwalk for a panoramic view of Batam’s sunrise and sunset. When the weather is favourable, one can even spot Singapore and Malaysia along the horizon.

Expect only fresh and authentic Thai and Chinese cuisines stamped with the seal of approval by Singapore’s renowned chef consultants.
Overlooking the sea along the boardwalk of Harbour Bay, we think the restaurant’s alfresco dining experience is on par with its air-conditioned, indoor dining option.
A popular choice amongst corporate diners, the kitchen even attends to special takeaway requests for their famous fried fish skins!
Jumbo Thai Kitchen features two VIP rooms and a live band that can be booked upon request.

5 – Harbour Bay Seafood Restaurant
In Batam, it’s seafood before anything else (and probably anyone else). At Harbour Bay Seafood Restaurant, a few seafood feasts in a banquet setting probably won’t bleed your wallet like those in Singapore do.
Founded in 2007, this Indonesian Chinese restaurant not only serves quality seafood, it features a live band in the evening too.
On a getaway to live the island life? Ditch the indoor air-conditioning and just dine by the sea! There’s a good reason why Harbour Bay Seafood Restaurant is a popular wedding venue. It offers a variety of setting for diners, including a private VIP experience too!
Address: Harbour Bay Batam No. R08 (Jl. Duyung, Sei Jodoh), Batam, Indonesia, 29453
